Full job description

Hiring candidates who are already in Whistler ONLY.

To provide for the comfort of guests by ensuring that guest rooms and public areas are clean and properly presented.

Main Duties:

  • Ensure housekeeping cart is fully stocked at the start of each shift
  • Vacuum, clean, dust and polish guest rooms as assigned
  • Remove dirty linen, make beds, change sheets
  • Clean bathrooms, remove and replace used towels and toiletries
  • Clean kitchens in suites, check stock & replace utensils
  • Ensure room cleaning follows standards as set out in the Operations Manual
  • Ensure security of guest rooms and privacy of guests
  • Perform rotation cleaning duties (e.g. windows, drapes) as required
  • Note and report maintenance needs in guest room
  • Note and report any damages by guests or items missing immediately
  • Separate damaged linens
  • Perform shifts in the laundry room involving the sorting and folding of linen
  • Follow environmental and recycling practices of the hotel
  • Understand Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
  • Understand and implement the proper use of cleaning supplies
  • Ensuring that staff room & storage areas are always clean and tidy
  • Gathers and launders soiled pool towels
  • Fold cleaned articles and stack into designated amounts by type and size
  • Maintain laundry area in a clean and orderly manner

Requirements:

  • Pleasant and positive attitude
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Must be a responsible and capable individual, with good communication skills
  • Energetic and physically able to perform tasks - Must be able to stand for up to 7 hours a day, and lift or move heavy objects.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
