Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Recreation Aide to join our team. In this role, you will assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational activities tailored to the needs and interests of our residents. You will play a vital role in promoting social interaction, physical activity, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and facilitation of recreational programs and activities.
  • Engage residents in various activities, including arts and crafts, games, music, and physical exercises.
  • Support residents in participation, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
  • Collaborate with the recreation team to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback.
  • Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages socialization and community building.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of recognized Recreation courses is an asset.
  • Experience in a recreational or therapeutic role, preferably in a long-term care setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for working with seniors.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Creative and resourceful in developing engaging activities.
  • Valid Food Safe level 1 certificate.
  • Certification in First Aid/CPR is an asset.

Pay: $30.72 per hour
