Orchard View Gardens Retirement Residence | AON Inc.

Location: Orchard View Gardens Retirement Residence

Status: Part Time

Pay: $17.60 per hour

Orchard View Gardens is seeking a friendly, professional, and organized Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for our residence, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for residents, families, visitors, and staff while supporting daily administrative and operational functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet residents, visitors, and guests in a friendly and professional manner (in person and by phone).
  • Respond to general inquiries and resident requests, redirecting as required.
  • Support response to emergency situations following established procedures.
  • Process meal tickets, vouchers, and basic payment transactions (debit/credit, cash float balancing).
  • Handle incoming/outgoing mail and general reception duties.
  • Maintain spreadsheets and records (meal tracking, recreation attendance, resident billing, etc.).
  • Provide administrative support including typing, scanning, copying, faxing, and document preparation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident and staff information.
  • Conduct daily wellness check calls based on dietary attendance lists.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly dietary menus and related materials.
  • Support Recreation and Leadership teams with event setup, posters, and communication materials.
  • Maintain resident records, including admissions, discharges, updates, and profile photos.
  • Manage sign-up lists, meal tracking, and related resident coordination tasks.
  • Make daily announcements and support communication across departments.
  • Maintain reception organization, supply inventory, and communication logs.
  • Complete opening and closing reception duties and other assigned tasks.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher) and general computer systems.
  • Friendly, compassionate, respectful, punctual, and professional demeanour.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
