To fuel this vision, we are seeking a highly motivated Fall Intern to join our team and contribute to cutting-edge transformation projects advancing RBC’s risk management practices and capabilities. This role offers a unique opportunity to support the business development of real-world AI applications, directly impacting risk management workflows. As part of our dynamic team, you will collaborate with business stakeholders and technologists on projects that drive efficiency, automation, and strategic business value—playing a key role in shaping the future of RBC’s AI-driven innovation.
What will you do?
- Focus on supporting the development of real-world applications that address business challenges and drive advanced risk management decisions.
- Work closely with business users to understand their needs, translate business use cases into practical technical problems, and iterate solutions based on stakeholder feedback.
- Participate in key aspects of the end-to-end development cycle of high-impact AI solutions, from idea design and PoC to production deployment.
- Conduct user research, analyze business and technical requirements, and track and report on project progress.
- Design executive presentations, develop strategies and create communications for your project.
- Continuously learn and keep up with the latest advancements in AI and related technologies as well as corresponding regulatory or business requirements, sharing knowledge with the team.
- Play an integral role in engaging your critical thinking, time management and leadership skills within your team.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technological advancements and key concepts related to AI (Gen AI, Machine Learning, etc.) and emerging technologies.
- Ability to understand and effectively communicate business value.
- Excellent interpersonal and advanced communication skills (verbal and written).
- Excellent critical thinking, time management and leadership skills.
- Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced team environment.
- Ability to challenge the status quo and think outside the box to develop solutions.
- Excellent teamwork, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with project management and business presentations.
- A master’s degree or higher in business administration, commerce, computer science, engineering, statistics, or a related field is preferred.
Nice-to-have
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and working with end users and clients to understand their needs.
- Experience with user research, prototyping, wireframing, and/or experience mapping (creating journey maps, personas, and service blueprints).
- Experience with project management tools (ex. Jira, Confluence)
- Solid understanding of financial business insights, FinTech industry, startup industry or other related insights.
- Interest and understanding of up-and-coming technology and methodologies.
- Experience working in regulated or governed environments.
- Familiarity with financial and non-financial risk management concepts.

Experience creating polished visual assets — including logos, brand materials, animations, and short demo videos — using professional design and video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Figma, or equivalent), with a strong aesthetic sensibility and an eye for clean, polished design across various formats and use cases.

Please note: This posting is for a 4-months Fall 2026 Student placement with a start date of September 2026, and end date of December 2026. In order to be eligible for this 4-months Student position, you must either:
- Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of December 2026 ; or
- If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in December 2026), you must require the full 4-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
