Full job description

MicroPilot (www.micropilot.com) is a Manitoba company that is the world's leading producer of miniature autopilots for drones and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). MicroPilot autopilots fly a wide range of UAVs from micro air vehicles to high-speed turbine-powered targets.

MicroPilot autopilots are used worldwide by academic, military, and private research institutions as well as by OEM UAV manufacturers.

We are looking for hard-working, enthusiastic individuals to fill the following position:

Junior Electronics Designer:

MicroPilot is seeking an entry-level electronics designer and embedded software developer to contribute to the design of our drone autopilot hardware and related products.

The ideal candidate will have::

  • a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer engineering;
  • knowledge of embedded software development techniques, including assembly language programming;
  • 3 years of experience with electronics design and circuit layout techniques using Altium; and
  • demonstrated skill in FPGA design and coding.

This position requires a good working knowledge of the Windows™ and GNU programming environments. The candidate should be able to communicate effectively and work independently. Strong math skills, an understanding of digital filtering, knowledge of control systems, RF design and an interest in aviation are also assets.
