ABOUT THE ROLE

Pay Range: $55,000 - $58,000

Location: Milton, Ontario

Schedule:
Tuesday to Thursday: 6:00am - 2:00pm
Friday: 11:00am - 7:00pm
Saturday: 7:00am - 3:00pm

Role:

The purpose of this job is to ensure accurate and timely communication of delivery paperwork plus handling concerns by communicating with the Sales Department, Delivery Associates and Contractors (if applicable).


Role Responsibilities:

  • Address the questions and concerns of Drivers and Sales Representatives; work closely with Transportation Manager and Supervisors to provide resolution.
  • Retrieve telephone calls and assist Customer Service Representative or Sales Representative with daily routes concerns (late departures, deliveries, time windows, driver complaints, forecasted arrival times, customer location, hours of operation etc.).
  • Ensure accurate on-time reporting for department and corporate key metrics.
  • Compile route status information and communicate daily via various electronic means.
  • Work closely with Transportation Manager or Supervisor to review situations that have a potential impact on department cost or service levels.
  • Manage required training documents for various internal and external audit requirements.
  • Communicate and log driver challenges and concerns to assigned Transportation Supervisor for resolution.
  • Packing & unpacking of driver route bags accurately with all required paperwork, tools and keys.
  • Assists Supervisors with organizing the recovery effects due to customer service failures.
  • Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.
  • Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.
  • Responsible for compliance with all Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) comprising Sysco's Food Safety Program, specific for the assigned role.
  • Assist Food Safety Program Manager in ensuring compliance to Sysco's Food Safety Program that leads to compliance with third party certification and customer requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:

  • Minimum one (1) year of clerical and administrative experience
  • High School Diploma Required
  • Previous experience in the transportation industry is preferred.
  • Experience with MOT record keeping, HOS regulations is helpful.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
