Full job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and mechanically inclined individual for a unique Plant & Power Generation Operator role at a cutting-edge, remote facility near Grande Prairie. This position bridges traditional industrial power generation with advanced technology by supporting co-located AI mobile data centers. While prior operating experience is a major asset, we provide fully paid training for the right motivated candidate who possesses strong mechanical aptitude and a drive to learn. Full camp accommodations are provided, with candidates responsible for their own travel to the Grande Prairie area. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and optimize power generation assets to ensure maximum uptime for AI compute infrastructure.
  • Learn to perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on industrial generators, switchgear, and cooling systems.
  • Conduct regular physical inspections of the power plant and AI data center modules.
  • Track power efficiency metrics, logging electrical loads and fuel consumption.
  • Respond quickly to power fluctuations or thermal alerts to protect data infrastructure.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free industrial work environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills (highly valued).
  • Highly motivated with a strong willingness to learn complex industrial and tech infrastructure.
  • Prior experience in mechanics, electrical work, trades, or field operations is a significant asset.
  • Valid Third or Fourth-Class Power Engineering certificate is a plus, but not required for trainees.
  • Up-to-date safety tickets: H2S Alive, First Aid, and CSO (or willingness to obtain before starting).
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract.
