Surrey Police Service (SPS) is Surrey’s new municipal police agency. On November 29, 2024, SPS became the police of jurisdiction, and assumed responsibility and command for policing and law enforcement in Surrey. POSITION OVERVIEW
Surrey Police Service (SPS) is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join our Information Management and Technology Division as a Records Quality Reviewer 2. We are seeking one (2) incumbent who are committed to upholding a high level of accuracy, integrity, and excellence in policing records. As part of the Corporate Services Bureau, you will contribute to a collaborative team that ensures a high standard of file quality, accurate PRIME UCR (Uniform Crime Reporting) on police files, resulting in reliable crime statistics and high-quality reports.

Schedule / Hours of Work
The anticipated schedule for this position is 4 on/4 off, day shifts. Please note, the hours are subject to change based on operational needs and adherence to the Collective Agreement.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee daily audits of data and files on PRIME to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and completeness in accordance with established standards and guidelines.
  • Monitors and resolves issues related to Master Naming Index (MNI), Master Vehicle Index (MVI), and Master Institution Index (MII).
  • Inputs verified and accurate information, corrects data inaccuracies, duplications and resolves complex issues.
  • Reviews and interprets Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) policy and liaises with the PRIME Application Unit (PAU) to clarify policy changes and ensure procedural alignment.
    • Supports the maintenance and revision of the UCR manual and business rules to reflect current operational standards.
    • Identifies recurring data quality issues and provides recommendations to improve compliance and operational accuracy.
    • Provides oversight to and assists training and mentoring new and existing staff on procedures and system use.
    • Maintains liaison with the team and sworn members on matters of file maintenance, scoring, and compliance.
  • Assists in communicating policy updates.
  • Prepare detailed reports to identify data integrity issues and training needs.
  • Maintains data, documentation and files related to the work.
  • Acts as a resource person on operations and procedures related to the work.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Completion of Grade 12, supplemented by courses in a related discipline including PRIME.
  • A minimum of five years of related experience including experience working with PRIME in UCR scoring.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • All applicants must obtain and maintain the required police clearance throughout their employmentwith SPS. This role also requires RCMP Reliability Status (security clearance).

  • The salary range is $35.71/hour - $38.98/hour (pay grade 19) based on 2024 rates.
