Job Overview

We are recruiting a Surveyor to join our team for various projects throughout Northern Alberta. As a Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting surveys to determine topography and other physical features on a variety of construction and development projects. You will use a range of surveying instruments and techniques to collect accurate data, prepare reports, and provide essential information to support project planning and design.

Responsibilities

  • Perform construction layouts using traditional and advanced surveying equipment and techniques
  • Gather field data, measurements, and observations, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date for project development and design purposes
  • Produce detailed survey reports and maps, documenting findings and providing clear data for team members
  • Work closely with construction teams to ensure survey data aligns with project requirements and regulatory standards
  • Regularly inspect, maintain, and calibrate surveying instruments and equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Assist in the preparation of site layouts, grades, and elevations to guide construction efforts and ensure alignment with project plans
  • Perform site visits to verify conditions and assist in resolving any discrepancies between survey data and actual site condition

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in a related field
  • 5+ years' experience as a Surveyor in construction
  • Proficient in operating and configuring Topcon and Trimble grade control systems and total stations for construction or surveying applications is required
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and industry best practices related to surveying and construction
  • Excellent ability to analyze and interpret survey data, identify discrepancies, and provide clear recommendations
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements, data recording, and report generation
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present survey findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to identify potential issues on-site and provide practical solutions based on survey data
  • Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test including cannabis
