Position Overview:

Hudson Wren Portraits is seeking an experienced Part-Time Associate Photographer to join our team on a temporary contract basis, with potential for a long-term position for suitable candidates. The Associate Photographer captures stunning portraits of children, families, and pets while ensuring an exceptional client experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Capture beautiful and memorable portraits of children, families, and pets following studio standards.
  • Greet studio visitors and guests warmly and promptly.
  • Build rapport with children, pets and their families to create a relaxed and enjoyable experience.
  • Ensure all equipment is correctly set up and maintained.
  • Archive images and organize files efficiently.
  • Oversee brand standards, lighting techniques, and image quality.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Actively participate in studio meetings.
  • Handle multiple and changing priorities with ease.
  • Other duties as assigned by the owner.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience photographing children, families, and pets in a studio setting.
  • Ability to calm and engage children and their families, ensuring a fun experience.
  • Professional, patient, and positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and be self-directed.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and organized.
  • Proficiency with Photo Mechanic and Google Drive.
  • Well-versed in Studio strobe lighting.

Education & Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience photographing children, families, and pets in a studio.
  • Keen eye for detail and visual aesthetics.
  • Strong work ethic and dependability.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed indoors with long periods of standing, crouching, or kneeling.
  • Environment-oriented to customer service with constant work interruptions.
  • Ability to move about the facility to communicate with clients and staff.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently.
  • Willing to travel to other populated areas for pop-up locations.

Training is provided, but experience is necessary, especially with studio strobes and in-studio settings. Must be able to use a DSLR in manual mode and troubleshoot gear and lights if issues arise.

Requirements:

  • Basic computer skills. Particularly Google Drive and Photo Mechanic.
  • Comfortable and experience working with families, children, and pets.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work independently.
  • Friendly, helpful, and energetic personality.

Customer service experience is a plus.
