Active and Creative Autism Support worker.

Looking for an individual to add extra sunshine to our team!

If you are looking for a career in making a meaningful impact, or know someone who is, please keep reading.

We are looking for someone that is energetic, compassionate, and loves arts and crafts. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building meaningful connections, brings a sense of fun and positivity to their work, and has experience supporting individuals who are neurodiverse. Someone who brings FUN to work with them would be a great addition!

The right person will be patient, intuitive, and engaging, with a natural ability to create a comfortable and supportive environment. Someone who has chosen this field as a career path and is interested in making a lasting commitment. Some related work experience could look like, working as ECE, EA, teacher, etc.

You’ll be joining a collaborative and supportive team focused on creating an exceptional quality of life for an individual with autism.

Our team is supported by experienced aides and board-certified behavioral psychologists. We invest in our team long term by providing continual education and training. Therefore, comprehensive training and ongoing support will be provided to help you succeed and grow in this role.

What You’ll Be Doing

Much of your time will be spent out in the community, encouraging participation, independence, and connection through a variety of activities.

Some of the activities include:

  • Sports such as basketball, football, soccer, and tennis
  • Running and staying active
  • Cooking and baking (including decorating projects)
  • Swimming
  • Arts, crafts, and creative projects
  • Photography
  • Supporting continued learning and life skills development
  • Exploring job sampling opportunities

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience supporting youth with developmental disabilities and/or autism is preferred (professional or personal experience)

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license (required)
  • Standard First Aid and CPR C certification (preferred)
  • Ministry of Justice CRRP (Criminal Record) clearance (preferred)

A thorough background and security check will be conducted prior to any job offer.

Availability

Both part-time and full-time positions are available. While full-time is preferred, we are open to accommodating part-time schedules for the right candidate. Evening and weekend availability is required, including Saturdays.

Pay: $80,000.00 per year
