Full job description

ABOUT DIVAN GROUP
Divan Group is a Toronto creative studio and digital marketing agency for beauty clinics, medical aesthetics, and wellness brands. We shoot on cinema cameras, we deliver in English and Farsi, and we've completed over 1,000 projects across Canada, the United States, Spain and the UAE. Our clients are clinic owners, doctors and injectors — and a lot of what we film happens inside a working clinic, around real patients, on a tight clock.

THE ROLE
You're the second pair of hands on set, and on some days the second camera. You make the lead shooter faster and the clinic owner calmer.

BEFORE THE SHOOT

  • Coordinate the production day with the client — confirm date, time, location, who's being filmed, what's on the shot list, and that the room will be ready
  • Coordinate with models or on-camera talent when a shoot needs them — availability, call time, wardrobe notes
  • Get the release forms signed from every model, staff member or patient who appears on camera — before the first frame is recorded, never after
  • Four batteries charged and every card formatted the night before a production day. No exceptions
  • Arrive 30 minutes before the lead shooter and have the lights set up and powered so we start shooting the moment he walks in

ON A SHOOT DAY YOU WILL

  • Load in, build and strike: cameras, lenses, tripods, gimbal, lights, audio, monitors
  • Set and adjust lighting to the lead's direction; run a second camera or B-roll when asked
  • Manage audio — lav mics, boom, levels, and the quiet reminder when someone's mic is off
  • Wrangle talent gently: doctors, injectors, front-desk staff, and the occasional patient who has consented to be filmed
  • Keep the shot list moving, slate takes, note good takes and problems
  • Offload and back up cards on site — two copies before anything is wiped — and label everything the same way every time
  • Keep the set clean and the clinic's space respected. We're guests in a medical environment

AFTER THE SHOOT

  • Upload all footage the same day to the client's project folder, named and organized the Divan way, with the signed releases filed alongside it — the editors start from what you upload
  • Log what was shot, what was missed, and anything the client asked for
  • Gear back in its cases, batteries on the charger, ready for the next call

BETWEEN SHOOTS (optional, paid at the same rate)

  • Pull selects and organize footage for the editors
  • Simple studio setups for product and treatment shots

WHO DOES WELL HERE

  • You've been on real sets — student films, events, brand content days, commercial productions, a production course, anything where you carried gear and hit a call time. We do not require Canadian experience.
  • You know your way around a mirrorless or cinema body (Sony, Canon, Blackmagic — any of them) and can pull a clean shot on a gimbal
  • You understand lighting well enough to fix a hot spot without being told twice
  • You have a driver's licence and access to a car — gear doesn't take the subway
  • You're calm around people who are nervous on camera, and discreet around people who didn't come to be on camera
  • You're organized in a way that shows: your cards are labelled, your batteries are charged, your cables are wrapped, your releases are signed
  • You're comfortable on the phone and on WhatsApp with clients and models — confirming, reminding, and rescheduling without drama
  • Farsi is an asset (many of our clients and their patients speak it); not required
  • Nice to have: basic Premiere / DaVinci, drone licence (Basic RPAS), photography

WHAT YOU'D BE COMMITTING TO — PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING
We film inside clinics. That means:

  • Confidentiality about clients, their patients, their pricing and their business
  • Patient privacy under PHIPA — you'll be personally responsible for following our one-page rule sheet: no filming anyone who hasn't signed consent, no patient info on personal devices, no footage in unapproved apps or AI tools
  • Everything we shoot belongs to Divan or the client. No portfolio use without written permission
  • Equipment care — you'll handle gear worth more than a car; damage from carelessness is covered up to a capped amount set out in the agreement
  • For 18 months after we part ways, you don't take on our clinic clients directly

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
