ALTERNATING WEEKENDS 7am-3pm available

CASUAL or PART-TIME

Primary Role: A Support Team Lead, RPN plays an important role at Memory & Company. The Support Team Lead, RPN ensures our Members are cared for on the Medical Side, and are comfortable, happy, engaged and well cared for while at Memory & Company.

As well our Support Team Lead also takes on the roles of the Support Team by providing a universal approach to care, and will participate in programs, dining, activities, and care assistance.

Essential Qualifications:

  • At least one year of relevant experience as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Knowledge and experience working with people with Alzheimer's and related dementia's
  • Membership in good standing with the College of Nurses
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, decision-making and assessment skills
  • Ability to lead a team environment
  • Physically fit, can sit, bend and stand for long periods of time
  • Can lift up to 35lbs
  • Mentally fit to meet the emotional demands of caregiving
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification
  • Police Criminal Reference Check, Vulnerable Sector
  • Mantoux Test to confirm no active TB
  • Secondary language an asset
  • Willing to take annual flu shot, unless allergic and confirmed by a physician.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal skills for effective communication
  • Passionate about improving the lives of those affected by Dementia.
  • Comfortable leading large and small group programs
  • Comfortable with care and assisting our members to the toilet in a sensitive, private and respectful manner
  • Creative and enjoys running daily programming
  • Enjoys the Universal Support Team Approach.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively
  • Exceptional organizational, time management skills
  • Patient, kind, empathetic and very adaptable

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Delivery of medication to Members, oversee medication program, and delegation of task when appropriate
  • Schedule caregiver meetings, from intake to exit, with accurate and complete documentation, including all

ongoing changes or issues

  • Medication checks, and communication with Pharmacy if issues arise.
  • Assist with Member Assessments when needed
  • Inform families of medical concerns or issues.
  • Lead the team in any medically related issues.
  • Making our members feel very welcome.
  • Companionship
  • Greet our Members for hand to hand service, and assist them with getting comfortable
  • Assisting Members with toileting when necessary
  • Assisting with dining- preparation, serving, feeding assistance, occasional cooking, baking if a skill, washing

dishes, clearing and wiping tables

  • Light housekeeping and laundry to ensure Memory & Company always looks, feels and smells its best!
  • Grooming and bathing of members when necessary
  • Maintaining personal tablets and communication amongst each other
  • Follow health and safety requirements and procedures at all times
  • Be a kind, calm, and empathetic support to all our members and their families
  • Maintain a respectful, open-minded, open-communication environment with all team members
  • Ensuring daily assigned Members have all tasks complete and that they are happy and engaged
  • Address concerns when they arise with the appropriate leaders
  • Ensure the safety of our Members at all times by conducting regular checks and counts of our Members
  • Ensure our members are well fed, and hydrated at all times
  • Maintain the dignity of our Members at all times
  • Other duties as requested from time to time by the Memory & Company Leadership team

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
