Job Overview
The PSW Program Placement Coordinator at the London Campus plays a vital role in managing and facilitating practical placement opportunities for students enrolled in the Personal Support Worker (PSW) program. This position involves coordinating partnerships with healthcare facilities, supporting students throughout their placement experiences, and ensuring alignment with program objectives. The coordinator will serve as a key liaison between students, faculty, and external organizations to promote successful placements that enhance student learning and professional development.

Duties

• Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, community agencies, and other potential placement sites to secure diverse opportunities for students.
• Connect with long term care homes and retirement homes to secure placement (unpaid ) for our students in the PSW program
• Coordinate the placement scheduling process, ensuring timely and appropriate communication with students and placement facility
• Provide guidance and support to students during their placements, addressing concerns and facilitating communication between students and host organizations.
• Oversee documentation, compliance, and reporting related to student placements to meet accreditation standards.
• Lead outreach efforts to recruit new partner organizations and expand placement networks.
• Manage administrative tasks including tracking student progress, maintaining records, and preparing reports on placement activities.
• Collaborate with faculty to integrate placement experiences into the overall program curriculum.
• Assist in project management activities related to program development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct research on best practices in clinical education and incorporate innovative strategies into placement processes.
• Prepare written reports, proposals, and correspondence related to program activities and partnerships.

Requirements

• Proven experience in project management, placement coordination speicific to long term care homes or administrative roles within educational or healthcare settings.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders effectively.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing documentation and schedules.
• Effective written communication skills for report writing, correspondence, and promotional materials.
• Experience in recruiting or building partnerships with external organizations is preferred.
• Teaching experience or familiarity with clinical education enhances understanding of student needs.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong research skills to identify innovative practices in student placement programs. Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
