ABOUT THE POSITION
National Westhills is looking for a host to fill out their team on a full-time permanent basis. Hosts are responsible for several functions including, but not limited to, greet all guests in a prompt and friendly manner, ring in takeout and execute curbside pickup orders, seat guests, and responsible for the overall flow of the restaurant. If you enjoy a fast-paced professional work environment, are flexible, and are looking to meet some great people along the way, this is the job for you.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Welcome and greet guests at the door in a prompt and friendly manner.
- Answer text messages, receive and record reservations accurately in a pleasant and attentive manner.
- Answer questions about food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services over the phone and in person.
- Maintain cleanliness of front desk area, restocking supplies and ensuring menus are organized.
- Communicate with servers as to when next tables are going to be arriving.
- Monitor and observe guests dining experience, ensuring guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
- Assist with settling bills and processing any credit, debit or cash transactions as required.
- Thank guests for their visit as they exit the restaurant and invite them to return.
- Be ready and willing to provide support as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the manager in charge.
- Assist in arranging transportation for guests if required.
- Execute ad-hoc tasks are required.
WHAT YOU HAVE
- 1 years’ experience is preferred but not required.
- Has worked with the Open Table program before, preferred not required.
- Strong English communication skills with ability to establish and develop relationships with team members, partners, and customers.
- Basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
- Basic math skills, can handle money, and operate a point-of-sale system.
- Valid Alberta ProServe certification obtained within 30 days of starting.
- Ability to maintain professionalism, control, and composure in difficult and stressful situations.
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Must be over 18 as alcohol service and open scheduling availability is a requirement.
