Peer Support Worker
Location: Vegreville, AB
Temporary/Permanent: December 31, 2028 (with the possibility of extension)
Hours of Work: 35 hours / week, (Mon) to (Fri), (8:30) am-(4:30) pm

Job Summary
EmployAbilities is looking for a Peer Support Worker supporting the EAN program. The successful candidate will use a peer-based approach to support participants in building confidence, overcoming barriers, and making progress toward employment and personal goals.
What You’ll Do
· Lead peer support groups and provide one-on-one encouragement, mentorship, and practical support to participants.
· Help participants connect with community resources and navigate barriers such as housing, transportation, health, and childcare.
· Build trusting relationships that promote confidence, engagement, and sustained progress toward employment goals.
What You’ll Bring
· Lived experience navigating employment barriers, recovery, or support systems is considered a strong asset.
· Experience supporting individuals facing barriers to employment or other complex life challenges.
· Experience facilitating groups, connecting people to resources, or working in community-based programs is an asset.
Needed Skills
· Empathy, active listening, and relationship building
· Strong communication and group facilitation skills
· Accurate documentation and professional boundaries
