Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and guiding adolescents in various settings. Your primary focus will be to create a safe and nurturing environment that fosters personal growth, educational development, and social skills. The ideal candidate will have experience working with At Risk Youth and a passion for educating and empowering young individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to children and adolescents in educational or recreational settings.
  • Develop and implement engaging activities that promote learning, social interaction, and personal development.
  • Foster positive relationships with youth, encouraging their participation and self-expression.
  • Collaborate with parents, educators, and other professionals to create individualized plans that meet the specific needs of each child.
  • Monitor and document the progress of youth in various programs.
  • Assist in managing behavioral challenges through positive reinforcement strategies.
  • Educate youth on important life skills, including communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure a safe environment by adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with adolescents is essential.CYC,DSW,SSW
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with youth from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A background in education or related fields is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when necessary.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of young people.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

  • Working with Youth: 3 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence and reliable vehicle (required)
