About Us

At Enhance Home Health, we deliver exceptional, client-centered home care services and are seeking compassionate, professional Home Care Aides (HCAs) to join our premium care team.

We are currently hiring for both Guaranteed Hours (GUH) Positions and Casual Positions

Guaranteed Hours Positions Available:

HCA 1 - Availability Required:

  • Tuesday
  • Wednesday
  • Thursday
  • Friday
  • Saturday
  • 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

HCA 2 - Availability Required:

  • Sunday
  • Monday
  • Tuesday
  • Wednesday
  • Thursday
  • 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Casual Positions

We are also recruiting casual HCAs with flexible availability to support our growing client base.

Compensation

  • $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
  • Both Casual and Guaranteed Hours positions available
  • Additional $2.00/hour overnight shift differential when GUH staff voluntarily accept overnight coverage
  • No sleep shifts

As a Health Care Aide you will:

  • Provide high-touch, personalized care with extended time per client
  • Work with lower client volumes, allowing for deeper relationships
  • Deliver care in safe and pre-approved residential environments
  • Be expected to demonstrate professional presence, discretion, and emotional intelligence at all times.

Position Overview

The Health Care Aide (HCA) provides direct client care, lifestyle support, and clinical observation in a home setting, aligned with individualized care plans and Alberta regulatory standards.

This role requires:

  • Professional presentation and conduct

Key Responsibilities

1. Personal Care

  • Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and hygiene
  • Deliver care with a focus on:
  • Dignity
  • Comfort
  • Client preference
  • Adapt care approach to match client lifestyle and expectations

2. Lifestyle & Concierge-Level Support

  • Meal preparation tailored to client preferences and dietary needs
  • Light housekeeping with attention to detail and presentation
  • Accompaniment to appointments, outings, or social engagements
  • Support routines that promote wellness, independence, and quality of life

3. Clinical Support (Within Scope)

  • Assist with mobility, transfers, and repositioning
  • Monitor:
  • Skin condition
  • Mobility changes
  • Cognitive or behavioral shifts
  • Perform delegated tasks only when:
  • Properly trained
  • Authorized and documented

4. Client Experience & Relationship Building

  • Build trust through:
  • Consistency
  • Professionalism
  • Emotional awareness
  • Provide companionship while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
  • Respect privacy and maintain strict confidentiality at all times

5. Safety & Infection Prevention

  • Follow all Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) protocols
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized care environment
  • Identify and report risks proactively

Documentation & Accountability (HIGH STANDARD)

Accurate documentation is essential in a premium care environment.

You will be responsible for:

Daily Charting

  • Detailed visit notes including:
  • Care provided
  • Client condition
  • Observations and changes
  • Completed in real-time or immediately post-visit

Incident Reporting

  • Immediate documentation and escalation of:
  • Falls or injuries
  • Safety concerns
  • Changes in condition

Care Plan Compliance

  • Strict adherence to individualized care plans
  • Proactive communication of required updates

Documentation must meet legal, clinical, and audit standards in Alberta.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

  • Completion of a recognized Health Care Aide (HCA) program
  • Must meet Alberta competency standards
  • Must be registered, active and in good standing with the Health Care Aid Directory
  • Current First Aid & CPR
  • Current & Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal English)

Professional Expectations:

  • Polished, professional presentation
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality
  • Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Ability to assist with mobility, transfers, and repositioning

Preferred Assets:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
  • Previous private care or high-end client experience
  • Experience with electronic documentation systems
  • Experience working with persons diagnosed with Dementia
  • Experience working with persons with spinal cord injury

  • Privacy legislation (HIA / FOIP)
  • Workplace safety and infection control protocols
