Job Overview

Family Physician office, work on Tuesdays, wednesdays nd saturdays, longterm.

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team on a part-time basis, working three days a week in Brampton. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide comprehensive patient care across various clinical settings, including acute care, pediatrics, and home care. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with physicians and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality services, utilizing advanced electronic medical record systems and demonstrating a strong commitment to patient-centered care. Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking and physical examinations across diverse age groups such as pediatrics and adults
  • Administer medications, perform phlebotomy procedures, and manage pain effectively in accordance with established protocols
  • Document all patient interactions accurately using electronic medical records systems like Epic and Cerner
  • Assist in data collection for research projects and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
  • Coordinate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans, including home care arrangements when necessary
  • Support hospital-based activities by managing acute care cases and ensuring seamless patient transitions between settings
  • Provide patient education on medication administration, health maintenance, and preventive care strategies

Skills

  • Proficiency with electronic medical records platforms such as Epic and Cerner
  • Extensive hospital experience with exposure to acute care environments
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures including phlebotomy and medication administration
  • Experience in pain management techniques and pediatric patient care
  • Familiarity with research methodologies and data collection processes in healthcare settings
  • Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations
  • Ability to navigate electronic medical records efficiently while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality
  • Prior experience in home care services is highly desirable
  • Competence in using medical office tools and managing medical documentation seamlessly
