Full job description

Title: Parking Enforcement Officer

Department: UPARK

Reports To: Operations Manager

General Description:

The Parking Enforcement Officer is responsible for monitoring assigned parking facilities to ensure compliance with parking regulations, issuing parking violation notices, and maintaining a visible presence that promotes safe and orderly parking operations. The role also serves as the Company's eyes and ears in the field by reporting any operational, safety, or maintenance concerns observed during patrols.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Patrol assigned parking facilities on foot or by vehicle.
  • Enforce parking rules, regulations, and company policies.
  • Issue parking violation notices accurately, consistently, and professionally.
  • Document violations with photographs and detailed notes when required.
  • Monitor parking lots for unauthorized parking, misuse, or safety concerns.
  • Observe and report unusual activity, incidents, or customer concerns.
  • Report damaged signage, lighting, gates, payment equipment, or other property requiring attention
  • Provide timely updates to management regarding conditions at assigned locations.
  • Maintain accurate records of patrols, tickets issued, incidents, and observations.
  • Respond courteously and professionally to customer inquiries.
  • Follow company policies and applicable municipal bylaws.

Equipment Reporting

The Parking Enforcement Officer is expected to inspect parking facilities during regular patrols and promptly report equipment malfunctions, damaged gates or barriers, pay station issues, signage problems, lighting outages, vandalism, cleanliness or safety concerns, and any other conditions affecting operations.

The Parking Enforcement Officer is not responsible for repairing, troubleshooting, altering, or maintaining any parking equipment or facilities. Their responsibility is limited to identifying issues and reporting them through established procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong observation and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet for reporting and ticket issuance.
  • Ability to walk and stand or extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to climb stairs and patrol large parking facilities.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Work Schedule:

  • 40 hours per week.
  • Flexible schedule based on operational requirements.
  • Shifts may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
