Press Operator

CCL is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented professional who has recently become a press operator and has a proven track record at feeding offset Heidelburg presses. Join our team as a Pressmen, where you’ll play a vital role in ensuring seamless press operations and exceptional product quality. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving, we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Heidelberg press in an efficient manner
  • Meet established production targets
  • Ensure Quality standards are maintained, monitor product quality, including the necessary checks periodically throughout production
  • Maintain equipment and work area with Press Maintenance, exceptional housekeeping, and safety standards/environment
  • Read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Customer Special Procedures (CSP’s)
  • Interpret docket information, instructions, layouts, etc.; accurately complete all paperwork
  • Adhere to and perform duties in an established Healthcare/ Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environment
  • Review new constructions, opportunities, R & D, and assess viability on Printing equipment
  • Suggest improvements on production orders and running conditions of press; troubleshooting capabilities
  • Adhere to production schedules; organize, plan and prioritize work
  • Other related bindery and print duties as required
  • Ability to work overtime when needed

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Experience

  • 3-5 Years of relevant experience.
  • Must have experience with 6,8,10 colour experience.

Skills

  • Knowledge of GMP and GDP will be considered an asset
  • Good working knowledge of the Offset Press Department and its role within and Offset/Bindery company
  • Strong Mechanical aptitude
  • Strong understanding of colour; preference will be given to candidates with X-Rite colour theory/management
  • Team Player with strong communication skills; ability to work well with co-workers in a fast paced team environment
  • Safety conscious
  • Self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Quality and Continuous Improvement mindset
  • Good mathematical skills are required for basic math calculations. Good written skills; preference will be considered for candidates with High School (or equivalent) diploma and any post secondary education
  • Safety footwear is required
