Qualifications

Company Overview

Frankie’s Organic is a growing, family-owned snack company creating delicious, certified organic snacks for consumers across Canada and the United States. We develop products under our own brand and for private-label partners, with a focus on quality ingredients, great taste, and innovation.

We’re looking for an organized, curious Product Development Coordinator with a background in food science to join our team. This position is an entry-level position to work closely with product development, marketing, quality, and production. You’ll support new snack development from initial concept through sampling, testing, and launch. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience and contribute to products sold at major retailers.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with developing new snack products, flavours, and improvements to existing recipes.
  • Support ingredient sourcing, supplier communication, and sample requests.
  • Participate in formulation trials, production trials, and sensory evaluations.
  • Prepare and coordinate samples for internal reviews, customers, and retailer presentations.
  • Maintain accurate formulations, ingredient specifications, trial results, and product development records.
  • Help coordinate nutritional analysis, shelf-life studies, and other product testing.
  • Work with quality and regulatory teams to gather information for ingredient lists, allergen declarations, nutrition panels, and product claims.
  • Support packaging development by reviewing product information and coordinating updates.
  • Track project timelines, sample submissions, and follow-ups to keep development projects moving.
  • Research snack trends, ingredients, flavours, and competitor products.
  • Assist with the transition from small-scale trials to commercial production.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
  • Recent graduate or up to two years of relevant experience. Internships, co-op placements, and academic product development projects are welcome.
  • Foundational understanding of food ingredients, formulation, processing, and food safety.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with measurements, percentages, and basic formulation calculations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and willingness to work hands-on in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with organic certification, snack manufacturing, or Canadian and U.S. food labelling requirements is an asset.

Benefits:

  • On-site parking

Work Location: In person
