Full job description

Kelowna Oral & Facial Surgery is seeking a full time registered nurse (RN) for its private clinic . This is an exciting opportunity to join our beautiful practice that has a fantastic and supportive teamwork environment. The successful candidate will work alongside a team of nurses, certified dental assistants, anesthesiologists, and oral surgeons at our dental surgery clinic.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, competent, responsible and reliable, self-motivated individual that excels at critical thinking and decision making. This position is unique in the complexity and variability of skills, including patient acuity, as this position focuses largely on assisting in the anesthesia services for surgical patients. The RN must be proficient in skills such as: IV initiation, medication administration, vital signs management (inclusive of telemetry) and intervention. The successful candidate will excel in organization and attention to detail.

This RN will also have a good understanding of the Professional and Practice Standards established by the BCCNP. The successful applicant will respectfully contribute to the positive team-based environment and mature, fun working atmosphere.

Hours will be 3-4 days per week between Mondays-Fridays. Hours are 8-9 hours per day with a 7:30AM start and 4-5PM finish.

The successful applicant will hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN), be a member in good standing with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP), be BLS and ACLS/PALS certified. Previous PAR or ICU experience is required, including the additional certification in one of these areas. The telemetry course is also required.
