Full job description

Saskatoon Retina Consultants is seeking a Part-time Ophthalmic Technician /Medical Office Assistant to join our clinic. Office hours are Monday to Friday. We are a fast paced Ophthalmology clinic specializing in Retinal Disease and Surgery.

Job description includes preliminary testing of patients (medical history, visual acuity, intraocular pressures, and instillation of eye drops) and diagnostic testing (Fundus photography, OCT, Visual fields, Biometry, Optomap and Keratometry). Assisting with preparations for intraocular injections and laser treatments. Ensuring smooth clinic flow by assisting physicians and various tasks as needed.

To be considered for this position, the candidate must demonstrate the following: High level of comfort and proficiency with technology and equipment. High level of comfort working in close physical proximity with patients. Respectful and positive attitude towards fellow staff members and patients. Willingness to be part of a team-oriented atmosphere. Strong work ethic and attention to detail. Compassion towards patients. Ability to multi-task in a busy environment. Good verbal and written communication skills. Must speak/write good English.

Experience and formal training as an Ophthalmic Technician is highly recommended but training will be offered. Experience with Accuro EMR is also a strong asset.

Pay: $19.00-$19.50 per hour

Work Location: In person
