Ophthalmic Medical Technologist jobs

• Assists Ophthalmologists in the clinics by accurately and efficiently testing patients’ far acuity, near acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perception, applying eye drops to anesthetize or dilate the eye, obtaining intraocular pressure, autorefraction, manifest refraction, pupil assessment, angle assessment, and slit lamp exam.

• Accurately and efficiently performs diagnostic tests including A-scan, IOL Master, OCT, Humphrey Visual Field, anterior segment photography, fundus photos, topography and tomography scans.

• Perform other tests and measurements as requested by Ophthalmologists.

• Provides instructions to patients concerning their eye care in accordance with clinic policies and protocols. Counsel patients about cataract surgery options.

• Assists the Director of Clinical and Research Services with administrative duties related to the expansion of services in the clinic.

• Facilitates timely and accurate medical records management and ensures each record contains appropriate documentation as per established policy of medical record content.

• Establishes and maintains good relations and professionalism when connecting with patients, their families, and the Kensington Health community both in the clinic and in the community.

• Provides accurate information to the public in keeping with KVRC policies and procedures.

• Performs other duties as required and as assigned by the Director of Clinical and Research Services, Clinical and Research Manager, and the KVRC medical team.
