Lovegrove Dermatology is a leading clinic dedicated to providing exceptional dermatological care and advancing innovative treatments and research. Our team is committed to clinical excellence and a patient-centered approach.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Research Nurse (LPN/RPN) to join our team at Lovegrove Dermatology. This role is ideal for a nursing professional with strong phlebotomy and subcutaneous injection skills, organizational abilities, and attention to detail. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and supporting clinical research activities. Experience in clinical research is an asset.

Current registration as an RPN/LPN is preferred; however, internationally trained physicians will also be considered where relevant medical education, training, and credentials can be supported by appropriate documentation.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal Investigator, research coordinators, clinical staff, study sponsors, monitors, and other members of the clinic team.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Support & Patient Care

  • Perform phlebotomy, subcutaneous injections and specimen collection with a high level of proficiency.
  • Administer biologic and other injectable therapies as per physician direction.
  • Provide patient education on research requirements including administration, side effects, and adherence.
  • Conduct pre-screening assessments and ongoing monitoring of research patients.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure best-in-class patient care

Research & Clinical Trials

  • Support clinical research activities, including patient screening, informed consent, and data collection.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed research documentation.
  • Adhere to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with study sponsors, investigators, and regulatory bodies as needed.

Administrative & Organizational Support

  • Maintain detailed patient records in compliance with clinic and regulatory standards.
  • Organize research medication inventory, ensuring proper storage and handling.
  • Assist in preparing study reports, protocols, and ethics submissions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and privacy regulations.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (preferred) OR Internationally Trained Physician with appropriate documentation verifying medical education, training, and credentials
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy and subcutaneous injections with demonstrated experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with clinical research.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Strong communication and patient education skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to evolving study protocols, patient needs, and sponsor timelines.
