Full job description

Job Summary

  • Work primarily as a Mammography Technologist.
  • (Experience with Bone Mineral Density would be an asset.)
  • Perform a variety of Mammographic procedures at a technical level.
  • Work as a part of a team with a commitment to excellent patient care.
  • Perform high quality Breast Imaging with competence and care.
  • Comprehensive education and knowledge of anatomy and physiology,
  • Working knowledge of equipment and ability to troubleshoot problems.
  • The Registered Technologist is responsible to maintain competency and follow standards, as outlined by the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRTO).

Qualifications and Skills

  • Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRTO) required.
  • Membership in the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) and/or the Ontario Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (OAMRT) preferred.
  • Completed Mammography I and Mammography II courses preferred, or in progress.
  • Completed Certificate in Breast Imaging - Screening (CBIS) certification preferred, or in progress.
  • Recent related experience with Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) and the High Risk OBSP Program preferred.
  • ISCD or OAR certification preferred.
  • Current BCLS certification preferred.
  • Initiative, responsibility and organization required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, as well as computer skillls required.
  • Have knowledge of all mammography exams, anatomy & physiology, physics and imaging equipment required.
  • Experience and ability to image accurately, thoroughly and quickly required.
  • Experience working with mammography exams, equipment, PACS and computer software required.
  • Provide records of continued education and learning.
  • Problem-solving, time management and teamwork skills required.
  • Commitment to excellence in patient care required.
  • Demonstrated reliable attendance and ability/willingness to work various shifts required.
