What we're hiring for:

We're looking for a Floor Manager, to play a pivotal role in achieving Monogram's purpose by carrying out your responsibilities with excellence. The Floor Manager position is crucial to the success of our Cafe and Team, and we believe that dedication and leadership will be instrumental in creating a welcoming and memorable experience for our customers. The Floor Manager's leadership, ability to manage the team and service, and overall presence on the floor are essential to creating a positive and efficient environment. One of the key elements to be a successful Floor manager at Monogram is to be passionate about Coffee and People.

You must have leadership experience managing in a hospitality setting.

Your main responsibilities:

Team Well-being:

  • Nourishing your Team to support professional growth. Reinforcing, protecting and building positive culture of coffee and community.
  • Weekly checkins with every staff
  • On the floor sensitivity to the team, dealing with dynamics issues swiftly
  • Appreciation and organizing team events.

Customer Experience:

  • Maintaining and elevating the cafe experience with an amazing sense of Hospitality
  • Exemplify our Service Excellence standards
  • Coach and support the team to execute a service that is to our hospitality standards
  • Show proactiveness and attentiveness with generous warmth
  • Encourage the team to spark people’s discovery of coffee
  • Ensuring eam’s knowledge on our coffee and how that is conveyed during the whole bean purchasing process
  • Direct the team on highest priority service needs (knowing when to reset the cream bars, refill bar preps, etc)
  • Uphold cleanliness standards
  • Quarterbacking bar flow and general cafe work pace
  • Being the go-to person for complex customer dissatisfaction moments

Coffee Quality:

  • Work closely with our Quality Control team for quality assurance tasks
  • Calibrating, maintaining and reporting on optimal coffee equipment settings.
  • Machine upkeep and maintenance
  • Strict maintaining of quality standards for drinks served
  • Ensuring that the espresso, filter and pour-over coffees are tasted, understood and feedback given
  • Work alongside newly bar-trained baristas to focus on levelling up specific skills
  • Helping the team expending their knowledge and sharing the story behind every bean

Your actions:

● Directing - communicative and vocal. Having a strong sense of Leadership will be essential for a successful Floor Manager.

● Upholding - unwavering commitment and coaching on standards.

● Supporting - genuinely build relationships, listen and learn how to best support each individual of your team, while challenging them to be better.

Additionally, Cafe Operational Support

● Helping to roll out marketing initiatives

● Triaging issues. Be a problem solver and have the mindset set to “there is always a solution for every situation”

● Stock Management. Having a good understanding of the needs and usage of the Cafe. Being aware of your stocks and their rotation.

● Working as a Team with the other Floor Managers, Lead Floor Manager and other leadership positions.

● Reporting on a daily basis to the upper management regarding the Activity in the Cafe.
