About Jayen Homes

Jayen Homes is a growing real estate development and construction company committed to building exceptional residential and commercial projects throughout British Columbia. We are currently seeking an experienced and safety-focused First Aid Attendant / Construction Safety Officer (CSO) to join our team on our exciting hotel development project in Richmond.

Position Summary

The First Aid Attendant / CSO plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by providing first aid services, promoting safe work practices, ensuring compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations, and fostering a strong safety culture on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate first aid treatment and emergency response when required.
  • Maintain the site first aid room, equipment, and medical supplies.
  • Complete accurate first aid documentation and incident reports.
  • Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and company safety policies.
  • Lead site safety orientations for new workers and subcontractors.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and participate in safety meetings.
  • Monitor safe work procedures and correct unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Coordinate investigations of incidents, near misses, and injuries.
  • Maintain safety records, inspections, and regulatory documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with site supervisors, subcontractors, and project management to continuously improve site safety.
  • Assist in developing and implementing site-specific safety plans and emergency response procedures.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture across all trades.

Qualifications

  • Valid Occupational First Aid Level 3 Certificate (WorkSafeBC recognized).
  • Construction Safety Officer (CSO) designation or equivalent safety certification.
  • Minimum 1 years of construction safety experience, preferably on commercial or multi-family projects.
  • Strong knowledge of WorkSafeBC Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently while building positive relationships with site personnel.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and digital reporting systems.
  • Valid BC Driver's Licence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience on hotel, commercial, or large-scale construction projects.
  • Fall Protection, Confined Space, and WHMIS certifications are an asset.
