St. Joseph's Health Centre is looking to recruit X-ray Technologists to join our wonderful team. This position is one of a team of technologists, working with the X-ray/Fluoroscopy Charge Technologist, Diagnostic Imaging, primarily responsible for high quality X-ray Services to meet the needs of our referring physicians and patients. Our team works in a fast paced environment performing all types of X-ray and Fluoroscopy exams.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Organizes, prioritizes and co-ordinates scheduling of procedures, communicates verbally with appropriate personnel regarding procedure types, lab results, equipment failures, policies and procedures
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate and complete
  • Perform all technologist responsibilities to ensure a high quality diagnostic result
  • Consult with the radiologist, nursing units and departmental nurses as to the special needs of each patient
  • Assist in the development of protocols to ensure consistency and standardization of examinations
  • Assist in inventory control, including ordering and restocking of supplies
  • Assist radiologist with Fluoroscopy procedures and other procedures as required
  • Ensure the care provided is safe, appropriate, tailored, timely, and maximizes the potential of the available equipment and resources
  • Demonstrates commitment to a patient- and family-centered approach to care
  • Respects patient rights and needs, and foster an environment that encourages the patient’s involvement in their own care. This commitment is extended to patients from all cultures and backgrounds, ensuring all are treated with dignity, equity and respect.
  • Shares their knowledge and expertise collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team, such as both staff and students, both internally and externally in a positive manner that promotes an inclusive environment
  • Participates in quality control, assurance and improvement programs
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills with the ability to manage competing demands
  • Monitors patient status and responds to any change in condition, to ensure patient safety and comfort
  • Organizes, prioritizes and co-ordinates scheduling of procedures, communicates verbally with appropriate personnel regarding procedure types, lab results, equipment failures, policies and procedures
  • Must be able to work independently and without supervision
  • Other duties as assigned and required for operational purposes

Shifts dedicated to Nights

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Registered with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario.
  • CAMRT and OAMRS current registration an asset.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • 2-3 years experience as a Radiological Technologist required.
  • Cross-sectional anatomy courses an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal/written), and organizational skills
  • Understanding and commitment to the Hospital's Mission and Values
  • Demonstrated ability to handle stress and conflict management in a professional, effective manner
  • Excellent problem recognition and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and accurately, both autonomously and as an effective team member
  • Ability to meet patient, family and staff needs in an efficient manner
  • Committed to meeting the goals and objectives of the department
  • Must be flexible, punctual and have a satisfactory attendance record
  • Demonstrated ability to organize work, set priorities, and manage time effectively
