Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aide to join our team in Vancouver Island, BC. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality in-home care that aligns with our commitment to client-centered service. Your contributions will directly impact the well-being of our clients and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities for clients in their homes.
  • Support clients with mobility and physical tasks, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients' health conditions.
  • Assist with meal preparation and dietary needs tailored to individual preferences.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients through light housekeeping duties.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' quality of life.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed.
  • Document client progress and report any changes in health status.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Health Care Aide or similar role in home or community care settings.
  • Strong understanding of patient care principles and practices.
  • Certification or training in caregiving or related fields is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with diverse populations.
  • Compassionate nature with a strong desire to help others.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting or transferring clients as needed.
  • Knowledge of dementia care practices is an asset.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is preferred.
