Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to join our Tim Hortons team in Abbotsford, BC.

The Restaurant Manager is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of the restaurant, leading and developing team members, maintaining Tim Hortons standards, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience. The successful candidate will be hands-on, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

People Management

  • Lead, coach, and motivate team members to achieve operational and guest service standards.
  • Support recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and training of new employees.
  • Ensure employees receive appropriate training and understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Provide regular coaching and performance feedback.
  • Address performance and conduct concerns promptly and in accordance with company policies.
  • Recognize and encourage strong employee performance.
  • Promote a respectful, professional, and inclusive workplace.

Restaurant Operations

  • Oversee daily restaurant operations and ensure smooth service.
  • Ensure all Tim Hortons standards for people, product, cleanliness, and guest experience are consistently maintained.
  • Monitor product quality, availability, preparation, and presentation.
  • Ensure proper food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures are followed.
  • Monitor drive-thru and front counter service to maintain speed and accuracy.
  • Ensure opening, closing, cleaning, and operational procedures are completed correctly.
  • Respond to guest concerns professionally and take appropriate corrective action.

Scheduling & Staffing

  • Assist with preparing effective employee schedules based on business needs.
  • Monitor staffing levels and communicate hiring needs to HR/management in a timely manner.
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality, availability, and shift coverage.
  • Ensure employees are scheduled and managed in accordance with applicable employment standards and company policies.

Inventory & Cost Control

  • Assist with inventory counts and ordering.
  • Monitor waste, food usage, and product availability.
  • Help control labour and operating costs while maintaining appropriate staffing levels.
  • Identify operational issues and recommend improvements.

Compliance & Administration

  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
  • Maintain accurate restaurant records and documentation.
  • Support workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Ensure required training and certifications are completed and kept current.
  • Escalate significant employee, operational, safety, or guest concerns to the General Manager/Area Manager and HR as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Previous restaurant management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Tim Hortons or quick-service restaurant experience is an asset.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to coach and develop employees effectively.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Food Safe certification is an asset.
  • Ability to lead by example and maintain a positive and professional work environment.
