Purpose

Under the general supervision of their assigned Operational Manager the Foreman I will operate in a matrix reporting environment. This position will take direction from their Operational Manager concerning all matters related to their and their employees’ performance while working on the project. Also, while working on the assigned project this position will take direction from the Project Manager (PM) on project execution.

This is a hands-on working Foreman who will also work side by side of their assigned crew, ensuring deadlines and quality are met for successful project completion. Previous DAVACO experience is required leading crews between 5 to 9 employees. This position requires domestic air travel. Valid CATSA-approved identification and Driver's License is required.

Essential Functions

• Administrative:

- Reviewing project requirements determines issues and opportunities and discuss with PM currently working with if a PM has not been assigned work with your Operational Manager.

- Responsible for all job-related reports and documents to ensure they are submitted correctly and on time.

- Responsible for leading, training, coaching and developing crew members assigned to projects.

- Required to complete employee performance evaluations on every job/project and send them to your Operational Manager.

• Project Execution:

- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of floor plans, fixture placement drawings, and construction drawings as they pertain to wall layout and placement of openings.

- Ensure your crew and the job site meets all DAVACO requirements for appearance, cleanliness, safety and professionalism.

- Prioritize and assign work to DAVACO crewmembers as appropriate. This includes, but is not limited to layout/timeline, scheduling of all trades and deliveries, coordinating job site activities, and ensuring deadlines are met and within budget.

- Follow-up for inspect quality control and progress, spot areas for re-work, mentor/coach to ensure work is done correctly, and client satisfaction.

- Performs “hands-on” carpentry and construction duties to meet plan requirements and project deadlines.

- Manage and coordinate subcontractor and vendors retained by client’s work, daily logs, track progress.

- Demonstrate at an intermediate level of ability to manage the scope of different types of finish out projects, to quickly learn, and implement new accounts.

- Provide organized on-site training for Foreman I on a going basis.

• Safety:

- Implement corporate safety procedures, ensure job site safety is a priority, safety standards are followed.

- Report to our Safety Specialist and your Operations Manager any serious safety violations.

• Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, proactively with all levels of employees and customers. Strong self-awareness is key to success of this position.
• Consistently receives a high grading from client evaluations.
• Previous projects have successfully demonstrated the ability to supervise employees to complete the most difficult types of finish out projects.
• Possesses a high level of knowledge in all areas of a project to execute new projects with minimum training.
• Experienced in retail remodeling, using digital cameras, troubleshooting DAVACO applications.
• Must have an excellent safety record.
• Ability to be self-directed, multitask, maintain confidentiality, organize, and prioritize work, and demonstrate ethical practice.

Requirements

• Must carry a valid Driver's License.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment background screenings (including Criminal Record and Driver's Abstract checks).
• Ability to lead crews to complete specific projects.
• Overseeing training of new crew members, if/as needed.
• Communicating to project managers/supervisors/field managers.
• Reading plans and specs.
• Ensuring quality work and correct practices.
• Strong knowledge of sub trades
• Solid communication skills
• Ability to lead by example.
• Planning and staying on timeline.
• Ability to work alongside coworkers.
• Always have their tools with them and must always be willing to jump in and work alongside the crew.
• Can manage large scope projects. Run a crew with 9 workers and when required and multiple sub trades.
• Have the skill sets to perform at the highest quality level at least 7 of the components below:
