Lead Exceptional Guest Experiences in an Extraordinary Bakery Café
At OLIVĒTTE, we believe exceptional bread, handcrafted pastries, thoughtfully prepared food, and expertly crafted coffee and beverages have the power to bring people together.
We're building more than a bakery—we're creating Ontario's most exciting modern European and Pan-Mediterranean bakery café, where artisan baking, specialty coffee, and genuine hospitality come together to create unforgettable experiences.
We're looking for an experienced Café Supervisor who leads by example, inspires their team, and thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment. As the leader of our front-of-house operations, you'll help create memorable experiences while ensuring every coffee served, every pastry displayed, and every guest interaction reflects the quality and warmth that define OLIVĒTTE.
If you're passionate about hospitality, love developing people, and take pride in creating exceptional guest experiences, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do
As Café Supervisor, you oversee the daily front-of-house operation while maintaining the highest standards of service, quality, teamwork, and operational excellence.
Your responsibilities include:
- Lead the daily front-of-house operations, ensuring smooth service and exceptional guest experiences.
- Inspire, coach, train, and mentor team members while fostering the OLIVĒTTE culture of hospitality and excellence.
- Assist with employee scheduling, performance coaching, and daily floor leadership.
- Monitor staffing levels, opening and closing procedures, and adherence to operational standards.
- Ensure all team members possess excellent menu knowledge and consistently deliver outstanding hospitality and suggestive selling.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally while creating positive and memorable experiences.
- Oversee cash handling, daily reconciliations, end-of-day reporting, inventory control, and waste tracking.
- Support payroll reporting, food ordering, and other administrative duties as required.
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, sanitation, and workplace organization.
- Monitor the quality, freshness, and presentation of pastries, retail products, grab-and-go items, and beverage offerings.
- Collaborate closely with the kitchen team to ensure displays remain fully stocked throughout the day.
- Monitor food and equipment temperatures while ensuring accurate logs are maintained.
- Ensure proper product labeling, rotation, storage, and food safety compliance throughout the café.
- Support waste reduction initiatives and sustainable operating practices.
- Lead by example, creating a positive, collaborative, and guest-first culture.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a hospitality professional who combines strong leadership with a genuine passion for guest service and operational excellence.
Education & Experience
You have either:
- A Hospitality diploma or degree (minimum two years) plus at least 1 year of supervisory experience in a bakery, café, restaurant, or similar hospitality environment,

- Experience working in premium hospitality environments.
Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:
- Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and consistency.
- Thrive in fast-paced environments while remaining calm under pressure.
- Lead confidently with professionalism, positivity, and a strong sense of urgency.
- Possess excellent communication, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Be passionate about coffee, beverages, hospitality, and creating memorable guest experiences.
- Have strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Be proficient with POS systems and basic computer applications.
- Hold a valid Food Handler Certification.
- Hold a valid Smart Serve Certification.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
