About Us:

Business Technical and Training College (BTT) is a registered private career college under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005 and a proud member ofCareer Colleges Ontario (CCO) and the National Association of Career Colleges (NACC). Since 1996, we have been guiding and training both local and international students through programs in healthcare, business and technology, providing career-focused education that meets industry standards and regulatory requirements.

We are seeking an Employer Partnerships & Student Placement Coordinator to help strengthen our relationships with employers, industry partners, community organizations, and placement sites. This position will play an important role in connecting students and graduates with practical training, placement, and employment opportunities aligned with their fields of study.

Role Summary :

The Employment Partnerships and Placement Coordinator plays a key role in supporting student success by building employer partnerships, coordinating clinical placements, and facilitating employment opportunities for graduates. This position is responsible for placing students into their mandatory internships/placements and supporting graduates in securing employment in their field within six months. The role also involves employer outreach, compliance tracking, and KPI reporting.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Practicum, Internship & Placement Coordination

  • Coordinate mandatory practicum, internship, and work-placement opportunities across applicable College programs.
  • Work closely with academic and program teams to understand program-specific placement requirements and timelines.
  • Liaise with employers, businesses, community agencies, and other industry partners to secure suitable placement opportunities.
  • Ensure student documentation and placement requirements are completed and maintained in accordance with College policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor student progress during placements and act as a liaison between students, placement sites, faculty, and administration.
  • Ensure placements are secured and finalized within required program timelines.

2. Employer Engagement & Partnership Development

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, staffing agencies, community organizations, and industry partners across relevant sectors.
  • Identify and develop new placement and employment opportunities for students and graduates across the College’s programs.
  • Conduct employer outreach through phone calls, emails, networking, meetings, and in-person visits.
  • Develop and maintain placement agreements, partnerships, and MOUs in accordance with College and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in job fairs, employer networking events, career fairs, and community engagement activities.
  • Travel to meet employers and placement partners when required.

3. Career Counseling and Job Search Support

  • Provide one-on-one career coaching, resume and cover letter assistance, and interview preparation
  • Conduct workshops and seminars on career readiness and job search strategies specific to the healthcare sector
  • Follow up with graduates to support successful employment outcomes within the required reporting period.

4. Employment Tracking, Compliance & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of student placements, graduate employment, and employer contacts
  • Track employment outcomes for KPI and compliance reporting
  • Provide regular updates to the Career Services Manager and senior administration on placement and employment metrics.
  • Monitor placement documentation, agreements, deadlines, and other required records

Requirements :

  • Related Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in human resources , career counselling or related discipline
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Career service OR Student placement coordination, or a similar role, preferably in a private career college is required.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with employers and community partners
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a vehicle for employer visits and site meetings (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends to support events, job fairs, or employer meetings.

Compensation:

CA$20.00 – CA$23.00 per hour
