Part-time Guest Attendant

What you can expect to do

  • General housekeeping duties include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping of floors, dusting and polishing of furniture, cleaning, polishing, and deodorizing bathroom fixtures, cleaning light fixtures, windows, walls, etc, and garbage removal in designated areas of the home
  • General dietary duties include setting up of dining areas, serving of food, cleaning of tables and chairs, delivering trays to rooms, dishwashing, and maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining rooms
  • General resident care duties may include answering call bells, assistance with basic hygiene needs, cueing and reminding, assistance with mobility, bathing, and or showering
  • Maintains awareness of the quantities of supplies to be used and follows procedures in place regarding the safe storage of such supplies. Assists in maintaining an inventory of supplies by reporting diminished supplies to the supervisor
  • Observes and report obvious changes in the environment that may affect the health and safety of the resident
  • Must understand the basics of good sanitation and techniques to avoid infection or spread of contagious illness and must be aware of routine precautions used for infection control. Follows all PPE practices of the home

  • Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and follow all Crown Ridge Healthcare Health & Safety policies, procedures, and legislations
  • Ability to perform duties in accordance with the Retirement Home Regulatory Act
  • Assists in maintaining the food services area in a safe and sanitary manner
  • Responsible for the service of beverages, meals and dessert items, and nourishment items
  • Load and unload the dishwasher
  • Responsible for following Residents’ diets and food preferences, using proper portion sizes, allergies, and restrictions
  • Follows proper food handling techniques and infection control practices within the dining room
  • Clear and sanitize tables, chairs, and any touch point surfaces
  • Follows established procedures for handling meal service to and from isolated areas

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Vulnerable sector check that is less than 6 months old at the time of hire
  • TB test steps 1 and 2 proof and 1 step in last 6 months until two step obtained in last year.
  • Good communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally always
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
  • Good organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
