The Opportunity

Enviro-Ex Contracting Ltd. is seeking experienced Dump Truck and Water Truck Drivers/Operators to join our growing road building and heavy civil construction team.

The successful candidates will have a strong background operating heavy trucks in active construction environments and will be responsible for safely and efficiently hauling materials, supporting earthworks and road construction operations, and maintaining equipment to a high standard.

This is a field-based position supporting road building, earthworks, aggregate production, and infrastructure projects throughout British Columbia. Travel, remote work, extended shifts, and overtime may be required depending on project location and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Dump Truck Operations

· Safely operate tandem, tri-drive, or other heavy dump trucks on active construction sites.

· Haul aggregate, gravel, sand, soil, rock, and other construction materials.

· Load and unload materials safely and efficiently.

· Operate trucks in varying terrain, including active road construction and off-road conditions.

· Coordinate with Excavator, Loader, Grader, and other equipment operators to maintain production.

· Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report mechanical issues promptly.

· Maintain accurate daily logs and required documentation.

· Assist with general site activities when required.

Water Truck Operations

· Safely operate water trucks to support road construction, earthworks, dust control, compaction, and site maintenance.

· Apply water to roads, stockpiles, and construction areas as directed.

· Support grading, compaction, and earthworks operations.

· Monitor water application to achieve appropriate moisture conditions without overwatering.

· Operate truck-mounted pumps, spray bars, and related water delivery systems.

· Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of the water truck and associated equipment.

· Maintain awareness of changing site conditions, traffic, personnel, and other equipment.

Safety & Teamwork

· Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and site-specific requirements.

· Complete daily equipment inspections and hazard assessments.

· Maintain awareness of pedestrians, mobile equipment, traffic, overhead hazards, and changing ground conditions.

· Participate in toolbox meetings and safety meetings.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area.

· Communicate effectively with Foremen, Superintendents, equipment operators, and other crew members.

· Work as part of a team to meet daily production and project objectives.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience

· Minimum 2 years of experience operating heavy trucks in construction or related industries.

· Previous experience operating dump trucks and/or water trucks is required.

· Experience in road building, earthworks, aggregate production, highway construction, or other heavy civil work is strongly preferred.

· Experience working around heavy construction equipment and in active construction zones.

· Familiarity with remote and resource-sector construction environments is an asset.

Licenses & Certifications

· Valid Class 1 Driver's Licence – required.

· Air Brake endorsement – required as applicable to the vehicle.

· Previous experience with off-road and heavy haul truck operations is an asset.

· Construction safety certifications such as CSTS, WHMIS, or Ground Disturbance are considered assets.

· First Aid certification is considered an asset.

Skills & Abilities

· Strong understanding of safe heavy truck operation and construction site procedures.

· Ability to operate safely in tight work areas and around other heavy equipment.

· Good communication and situational awareness.

· Ability to follow direction and work independently when required.

· Basic understanding of truck maintenance and mechanical systems.

· Strong attention to equipment condition and preventative maintenance.

· Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions.
