The Opportunity

As part of the HR Analytics and Reporting team, the Analyst, HR Business Intelligence will play a key role in developing dashboard, reporting and data solutions for the broader HR team and advancing HR Analytics at Definity. They will also partner with HR COEs and HRBP teams to bring meaningful data insights to drive workforce and business decision-making.

What to expect

  • Enhance HR Analytics value through Partnerships - Partner with HR leaders, HR COEs, and HR Business Partners to understand analytics needs and deliver actionable insights for regular and ad hoc requests
  • Develop Robust Dashboards - Design, automate, and scale intuitive HR dashboards and reporting solutions, primarily leveraging Tableau.
  • Build Data and Reporting Solutions and optimize end-to-end HR data pipelines and datasets utilizing Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies, including Google Cloud Storage and BigQuery . Support regular reporting and data analysis requests from HR teams
  • Develop Data Stories and transform raw data into engaging visual narratives and presentations that effectively communicate key trends and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Engage in learning opportunities (on data sources, systems, coding techniques, insurance industry concepts etc.)

What you bring

  • Data Visualization - Proven experience developing complex reports and dashboards. Strong proficiency in Tableau is preferred (experience with Power BI or Looker is acceptable).
  • Technical Acumen and Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specifically BigQuery , Cloud Storage. Demonstrated expertise in data wrangling, data reconciliation, and SQL. Experience using AI-powered development assistants.
  • Data Insights - Exceptional analytical skills with a proven track record of translating complex data into clear, business-relevant insights.
  • Communication & Trust - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, paired with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling highly sensitive HR data.
  • University or college degree in Math, Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, or a related analytical discipline (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications (Assets):

  • Domain Expertise: Prior experience building analytics solutions specifically using HR Data.
  • Advanced Languages: Experience with additional data analysis programming languages (e.g., Python or R).

Salary Range: $59,300 - $109,200


Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market.
