Part-Time Household ManagerJob Overview

We are seeking a reliable, organized, and proactive Household Manager to help keep our busy family household running smoothly.

This is a part-time position, a minimum of 3 days per week, Monday–Thursday, with flexible hours between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

The primary focus of the role is preparing healthy, home-cooked dinners so that a hot meal is ready for the family each evening, along with helping with household organization, laundry, errands, and daily dog walking.

We are looking for someone who is a true self-starter. The ideal candidate is able to look around the household, identify what needs to be done, and take care of it without needing to be given a list of instructions each day. They should be comfortable independently planning meals, recognizing when groceries or household supplies are running low, and proactively organizing their time to keep the household running smoothly.

Responsibilities

Meal Preparation — Major Focus

  • Independently plan and prepare healthy, home-cooked hot dinners for the family.
  • Ensure dinner is prepared and ready for the family at the end of the workday.
  • Develop a weekly meal plan without needing detailed instructions.
  • Batch cook healthy lunches and meals for the family.
  • Prepare healthy options such as quinoa salads, lentil salads, grain bowls, soups, roasted vegetables, etc.
  • Grocery shop and independently identify and purchase the ingredients required for planned meals.
  • Keep the refrigerator, pantry, and kitchen organized and well stocked.
  • Identify when ingredients or household food supplies are running low and replenish them.
  • Clean and tidy the kitchen after meal preparation.

Household

  • Laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and putting away clothes.
  • Change and wash bedding and towels.
  • Light cleaning and general household tidying.
  • Identify household tasks that need attention and take care of them proactively.
  • Help maintain an organized and functional household.

Errands & Dog Care

  • Daily dog walking.
  • Grocery shopping and occasional household errands.
  • Other reasonable tasks that help the household run smoothly.

Skills & Qualifications

Required:

  • Valid driver's licence and reliable access to a vehicle.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong cooking skills and comfort preparing healthy meals for a family.
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work independently without micromanagement.
  • Ability to identify problems or tasks that need attention and take the initiative to address them.
  • Ability to independently plan meals, organize grocery shopping, and manage household tasks.
  • Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
  • Strong attention to detail.

The ideal candidate:

  • Is a self-starter who takes ownership of the household responsibilities.
  • Doesn't need to be told what to do at every step.
  • Can look ahead and anticipate what the family will need.
  • Enjoys cooking and preparing healthy, family-friendly meals.
  • Is comfortable creating meal plans and recipes independently.
  • Takes pride in keeping a home organized and running smoothly.
  • Is resourceful and able to solve small problems independently.
  • Has previous experience as a household manager, family assistant, nanny, personal assistant, or in a similar role.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Minimum 3 days per week
  • Monday–Thursday
  • Flexible hours between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM
  • Daily dog walking is required.
  • Hours can be adjusted within the 9 AM–4 PM window based on household needs, with the expectation that dinner is prepared and ready for the family by the end of the workday.
  • $25–$30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 20.0 per week
