Salary Range: $38.08 - $47.60 /hour
The successful candidate supports hospital-based researchers in the development and submission of grant applications for a variety of funding opportunities. The Grants Development Consultant effectively manages multiple external grant deadlines and maintains a strong understanding of granting agency policies, requirements and grant submission processes. The Grant Development Consultant notifies researchers of targeted funding opportunities, reviews and edits funding applications, ensures compliance with external and internal grant policies and guidelines as well as internal Lawson grant development policies and procedures, and facilitates the building of interdisciplinary research teams, including engagement of patient partners. In addition to supporting research teams in the development and submission of grant applications, the Grants Development Consultant is also involved in the direct drafting and submitting of grant applications that are supported by the Research Institute in the advancement of the institute?s overall research performance.
This is a 5 day (37.5 hours) per week position.
Essential Qualifications
- Master's degree in health-related field
- 2 years of experience (research and/or grant development experience)
- Strong knowledge of research funding opportunities, eligibility criteria, approaches to funding challenges and required elements of grant applications
- Research experience in biomedical sciences, clinical research and/or medical devices
- Experience with grant writing, understanding technical documents or scientific manuscripts
- Time management skills with the ability to manage multiple changing priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team, and to build strong professional relationships
- Ability to influence and negotiate
- Detail oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Certificate in Research Administration and/or completion of Post-Doctoral Fellowship
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
