We are looking for a term instructor for our Health Administration and Technology team at our downtown campus to teach in our Medical Office Assistant (MOA) and Hospital Unit Clerk (HUC) program. This program teaches skills in healthcare administration for both primary and acute care.


As a NorQuest Instructor, you will facilitate learning in a variety of modalities, and this will require the use of technology to deliver engaging learner experiences. Instructors help our learners acquire the skills, knowledge and attitude to be successful in their chosen career. You will need to possess excellent organizational and communication skills and have a passion for providing instruction and feedback that allows our students to apply skills in a safe and inclusive environment.

We have one full-time, term instructor position available at our downtown campus. This position is from October 19, 2026 until June 30, 2027 with the possibility of extension. Instructors will need to teach courses in the Medical Office Assistant and Hospital Unit Clerk programs as well as other programs. Instructors must be available to teach classes Monday to Friday, during the day, at our downtown campus as well as online.


HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Applicants should have a strong background in healthcare administration and information management, working with groups, managing a classroom, and creating engaging and dynamic lessons, utilizing a variety of teaching methods.

Courses for the teaching assignment include:

  • Computer Applications for Healthcare Professionals

  • Health Information Management

  • Medical Terminology

  • Administrative Procedures for Acute Care and Primary Care

  • Other courses in the Office Assistant and Unit Clerk programs as required

Preference will be given to applicants who can teach a variety of courses.


WHAT YOU BRING

As a difference maker you bring:

  • At least two years of recent experience working in primary or acute care preferably in an administrative capacity

  • At least three years of teaching experience (F2F and online)

  • Proficiency in using technology; demonstrated experience teaching using Moodle and/or Kaltura would be a benefit.

  • Active membership/registration with CHIMA & HICA certification is considered an asset.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline.
