Full job description

Summary of Duties

  • Obtain Health Card number, verify health cards and register patients to the department via the Main Frame
  • Book appointments in the Patient Appointment Scheduling system (PAS)
  • Enter patient demographics into database
  • Prepare charts, billing sheets, check-in patients as they arrive for their appointments
  • General telephone duties
  • Photocopying and filing, faxing/mailing reports
  • Pulling charts for clinic
  • Recording and typing monthly minutes from meeting

Qualifications/Skills

  • OSSGD or equivalent as recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Education
  • One year of Community College
  • Recent related experience preferred
  • Typing 40 w.p.m. with maximum 5% error rate
  • Knowledge of computers; Microsoft Word and Excel required
  • Knowledge of PAS, EPR preferred
  • Medical terminology
  • Strong interpersonal, communication skills and teamwork
