Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) – Travel Contract
Adventura Medical Staffing Inc.
Location: Northeastern Ontario
Contract Type: Travel Assignment (Independent Contractor)
Duration: September-November
Travel & Accommodations: Provided

About the Opportunity
Adventura Medical Staffing is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to support a Northern Ontario hospital for a fall coverage assignment. This role is well suited for an MLT comfortable working in a small hospital setting with a broad scope across core laboratory services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory testing in hematology, chemistry, and transfusion medicine in accordance with established protocols
  • Collect, prepare, and process specimens following standard laboratory procedures
  • Ensure accuracy and quality control of all test results and report any discrepancies appropriately
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instruments
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of laboratory findings and quality control activities
  • Adhere to all laboratory safety standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to support timely and effective patient care

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited program
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario
  • Eligible to practice independently in Ontario
  • Minimum 1 year of recent hospital laboratory experience
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety protocols
  • Experience with quality control processes and laboratory standards (IQMH or similar)
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Up-to-date TB screening (within the past 12 months)
  • Proficiency in both English and French considered an asset
