Full job description

Kendellhurst Academy is a private school (JK-8) in Streetsville, Mississauga. We are seeking an Ontario Certified Math and Science Specialist (intermediate qualified teachers for Grades 6-9) . This is a rotary position and candidates must be able to teach other subjects as well. We may also have a full-time (Primary Junior OCT or RECE) and supply position open. Rotary positions often lead to full time for the following academic year.

Candidates must be:

  • tech savvy as our classrooms have Digital Interactive Displays and Grades 5 to 8/9 are on a chrome book learning program.
  • be dynamic, fun, dedicated, loyal and seeking longevity within a cohesive team context.;
  • possess a desire to learn and grow as a team member within a small school community.

Qualifications:

  • Must have Junior and Intermediate Ontario Teacher’s Certification in good standing for Math and Science position (Grades 4-9);
  • Must have Junior Intermediate Ontario Teacher’s Certification in good standing for Primary Junior kindergarten supply;
  • must have a RECE in good standing for possible JK team teacher opening;
  • minimum of 3 to 8 years of teacher certification in Ontario.

Skills and abilities:

  • able to rotate and teach all required subjects as needed (including but not limited to social studies, math, language arts, dramatic arts and computer studies, etc.);
  • proficient in iPad/computer technology pieces for art projects (iMovie, Comic strip, etc.)
  • proficient in educational Chromebook programs and platforms, Mac computers and applications;
  • experience with Digital Interactive Displays in the classroom;
  • able to fully engage in tech learning options, i.e. Google Classroom, Zoom, etc;
  • able to work within a collaborative, team environment;
  • able to work independently in all subject areas;
  • able to communicate in a professional manner;
  • experience with report card writing, conferencing;
  • nurturing and warm educator with a focus on student-centred learning;
  • able to prioritize and multi-task within a small and busy school community;
  • demonstrative abilities in school concerts/assemblies an asset.

Benefits:

  • minimum 25 hours per week for Rotary Teacher
  • minimum 40 hours a week for possible JK RECE position;
