Latitude Air Ambulance is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Part-Time Custodial & Maintenance Assistant to support both facility upkeep and aircraft maintenance operations. This position plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment while assisting Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs) with routine support activities. The ideal candidate is organized, physically capable, safety-conscious, and willing to work in a dynamic aviation environment.

Key Responsibilities

Custodial Duties

• Clean and maintain office spaces, hangars, crew areas, washrooms, kitchens, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize surfaces.
• Empty garbage and recycling containers.
• Restock cleaning supplies, washroom products, and kitchen supplies.
• Clean windows, doors, and other facility surfaces as required.
• Assist with seasonal grounds maintenance, including snow removal, salting, and outdoor cleanup.
• Report facility maintenance concerns and safety hazards.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and ensure proper storage of supplies.
• Other duties as assigned by Facilities Manager

Maintenance Assistant Duties

• Assist Aircraft Maintenance Engineers with non-certified maintenance support tasks.
• Clean aircraft interiors and exteriors.
• Perform surface preparation and painting of aircraft structures, components, and support equipment, including sanding, masking, priming, and finishing, while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Assist with aircraft positioning, and hangar organization.
• Maintain shop cleanliness and organization.
• Follow all company safety policies, maintenance procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance or designated AME.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous custodial, maintenance, facility, or aviation experience considered an asset.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to obtain and maintain airport security clearances, if required.

Working Conditions

• Part-time position with flexible scheduling.
• Work performed in office, hangar, and outdoor environments.
• Frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, and physical activity.
• Exposure to cleaning products, maintenance equipment, and varying weather conditions.
