Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional administrative support in a fast-paced medical or dental office environment. This role involves managing patient interactions, maintaining electronic medical records, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Experience with office management systems such as Epic and Dentrix, along with strong knowledge of medical and dental terminology, is highly preferred. The Medical Office Assistant will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, playing a vital role in delivering excellent customer service and supporting clinical staff.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors professionally at the front desk, ensuring a welcoming environment
  • Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages accurately
  • Maintain and update electronic medical records using platforms such as Epic and Dentrix
  • Assist with patient check-in and check-out procedures, verifying insurance information and collecting necessary documentation
  • Handle administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and managing correspondence
  • Support the clinical team by preparing patient charts and assisting with appointment scheduling
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards
  • Manage office supplies inventory and ensure the cleanliness of the reception area

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Dental Receptionist or Medical Office Assistant in a healthcare setting is preferred
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records systems such as Epic and Dentrix
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and dental terminology
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Experience working with multi-line phone systems and handling front desk responsibilities
  • Office experience in a healthcare environment is highly desirable
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor to interact effectively with patients and staff
  • Prior administrative experience in medical or dental offices is advantageous

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
