Job Overview

We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing front desk operations with efficiency and a friendly demeanor. This role requires excellent communication skills, familiarity with dental and medical office procedures, and proficiency in dental software systems such as Abeldent. The Dental Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate record-keeping, and exceptional customer service to support our team and enhance patient experience.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression
  • Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and confirm patient visits
  • Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records accurately using Dentrix and Epic software
  • Collect payments, co-pays, and process billing transactions efficiently at the front desk
  • Prepare and organize patient charts and documentation in compliance with privacy regulations
  • Assist with appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations to optimize daily workflow
  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk area to promote a welcoming environment
  • Collaborate with dental staff to coordinate patient care and ensure timely service delivery
  • Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence related to patient care

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a medical/dental office setting is highly preferred
  • Proficiency with dental practice management software such as abeldent is essential
  • Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental care is advantageous
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and data entry
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting professionally with patients, staff, and insurance providers
  • Ability to operate multi-line phone systems efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Office experience in administrative roles within healthcare settings is desirable
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and office procedures is required
  • Professional appearance, friendly demeanor, and strong customer service orientation are essential for success in this role

Pay: $19.31-$32.00 per hour
