Position Overview:
Reporting to the VP – People & Culture, the EHS Manager – Canada will provide strategic leadership and direction to ensure all Canadian locations operate in full compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. This role is responsible for building, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive organization-wide EHS program, policies, and procedures that protect employees, minimize environmental impact, and support both site-specific and company-wide objectives.
This role requires both forward-thinking strategy and practical execution, combined with an innate passion for championing change, driving continuous improvement in EHS processes, and fostering a workplace where safety and environmental responsibility are core priorities. We are looking for a dynamic individual with an operations, progressive safety mindset and the ability to understand the business and apply practical safety solutions to partner for success.
This role can be hybrid or based in office. Home location is flexible for any major metropolitan area in which Source Atlantic / Bolt Supply House / Soucie Salo operates.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement National EHS program, systems and safety protocols to ensure compliance with local, federal, and international regulations.
- Conduct safety audits and hazard assessments to identify risks and recommend corrective actions to prevent injuries and environmental impacts.
- Collaborate on emergency response plans and conduct regular drills to ensure employee preparedness.
- Monitor workplace compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Develop and deliver safety training to employees on procedures and best practices.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain records of incidents, inspections, and compliance documentation for internal and regulatory reporting.
- Manage waste, pollution control, and sustainability programs to minimize environmental impact.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies to report and address compliance issues.
- Manage the EHS budget for safety equipment, training, and compliance needs.
- Lead safety committees to promote a safety-focused culture.
- Ensure availability and use of PPE across all work areas.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement risk reduction strategies.
- Stay updated on EHS regulations and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Responsible for leading and advancing a strong safety culture and ensuring consistent safety practices across all operations in Canada.
- Evaluate new technologies that improve safety and sustainability.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive EHS initiatives.
- Other duties as required to further enhance the company's EHS policies and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Science, Safety Management, or a related field.
- 5-10+ years of hands-on experience in the development, implementation, and management of comprehensive EHS programs across diverse industries.
- Certified safety professional credentials (e.g., CRSP, CSP, NCSO, or equivalent) and relevant industry certifications are required
- Proven success building and implementing a national organization wide EHS program in a complex, industrial environment
- Thorough understanding of provincial & federal occupational health and safety regulations as well as environmental law and sustainability practices.
- Proficiency with safety management software & environmental management systems tools to track, report, and manage safety performance, inspections, and compliance activities.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting accident investigations, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective measures to minimize recurrence.
- In-depth understanding of hazardous materials management and safety controls related to chemical, biological, and physical hazards in the workplace.
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities are core competencies for the role
- Focus on innovation and design creativity when developing customer solutions
- Strong verbal/visual presentation skills are a requirement
- Exceptional collaboration skills; proven ability to partner with diverse operational leadership
- Demonstrated success in leading culture transformation within complex, multi-faceted organizations.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to be self-disciplined in driving completion of tasks and daily activities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment.
- Candidate must be ready & able to travel approximately up to 30% travel across Canada.
