Full job description

Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Scribe to join a busy walk-in practice. The ideal candidate will assist our healthcare provider by accurately documenting patient encounters and ensuring that clinical information is complete and organized. This role is crucial in allowing our physicians to focus on patient care while maintaining high-quality records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately document patient history, physical examinations, and treatment plans during patient visits.
  • Record physician-patient interactions in real-time, ensuring all necessary information is captured.
  • Assist in managing electronic health records (EHR) by entering patient data, updating charts, and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare staff and patients to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Retrieve and organize patient information from various sources as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and clinic procedures.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and ensure patient confidentiality.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college education or coursework in health sciences preferred.
  • Previous experience as a medical scribe or in a healthcare setting is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy.
  • Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
