BOOKKEEPER – ALLISTON CREAMERY

About Us

Alliston Creamery is a proudly family-owned and operated business located in Alliston, Ontario. Operating under the Golden Dawn label, we're passionate about producing wholesome, high-quality dairy products for our customers and community. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team on-site at our facility in Alliston.

Position Overview

The Bookkeeper will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. This in-person position will be responsible for managing accounts payable, performing bank and account reconciliations, handling month-end close processes, supporting year-end preparations, and producing timely financial reports. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in QuickBooks and comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and process all accounts payable, including vendor invoices and payments.

- Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other general ledger accounts.

- Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

- Support the preparation of year-end financial packages for external accountants.

- Generate monthly internal financial reports for management review.

- Monitor cash flow and support budgeting processes as needed.

- Maintain and update financial records in QuickBooks with precision and consistency.

- Assist with identifying and implementing process improvements in accounting operations.

- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and accuracy of financial data.

Qualifications

- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a full-cycle accounting role.

- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (mandatory).

- Solid understanding of accounting best practices.

- Proven experience in managing month-end and year-end processes.

- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Ability to work independently and take initiative in a dynamic environment.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
